Mixed. I honestly haven’t been around much to watch the test (click here for blog entry) with feeding freeze-dried mealworms. The only bird positively seen eating the food was black-capped chickadee. The red-breasted nuthatch has landed there and may be feeding but I haven’t seen it yet. I look forward to trying live mealworms come spring. In the meantime, here’s a shot of both birds:
A few observant readers may notice I put a few mealworms on the top of the feeder to get the birds to notice.
